    Default Home AC issue

So I thought I would be a good home owner and clean my outside unit today. It was caked with what looks like years of dirt and dog hair. So I cleaned it off with a glove, and sprayed it out with the hose. I did pay attention to keep water away from the electronics. I got it buttoned up and now it wont start. I could hear a very faint buzzing in the contactor but nothing else. I tried to push the fan with a stick and no dice. I checked both the fuse in the garage and that the outside disconnect looked good. So I go straight to the capacitor. A search here seemed to indicate that is a pretty common problem and I think these units are going on 13 years. That also seems like the cheapest option. Any thing else I should check? Thanks

The contactors are also a weak link as well as the capacitor.

Problem solved! I figured I'd use the fancy multimeter I bought a while back and found I didn't have power at the unit. I took the outside disconnect apart and when I used it today apparently the switch decided to break. A quick trip to home depot before they closed and 8 bucks later I'm back in business. Its a rheem, and seemed pretty simple when I had it opened up. I might buy a capacitor to have on the work bench when the time comes.
