    Default NB2 Ticking

    Hello All,

I have recently noticed a ticking sound on my 01. It is barely noticeable from inside the car but from outside it isn't so quiet. It is present at idle and increases in frequency with increased RPM but does not sound like a knock, just ticking. Recommended places to start looking?

Car has 152,xxx miles and I bought it with 143,xxx a couple years back.
Switched to Rotella T6 due to a persistent p0010 code from when I bought it which did end up clearing up.

    Thanks!

    Is it full of oil??

Does the tick sound like it down deep in the engine?

Or is it up in the Valve Train?

This was exactly it... I didn't even think to check the spark plugs. The front most spark plug was fairly loose. I pulled them all and they all look fine and only the 1st was loose. Thanks for the idea, cleared the problem right up by tightening it up.

I owe you a beer or your drink of choice.
