Thread: What next??

  1. #1

    Question What next??

Thinking toward the future and not wanting to continue in my current Autocross car for 2019. But where does one go?

Was thinking about an NC but in Autocross the deck seems stacked against it.
ND's are cool but now I got a feeling you would want a 2019+ car.
I've had several NA's and NB's and really don't want another one. Although ES is a really fun place to be these days.....

Anyone else sniffing around for a new ride? What pushes your buttons??

You want dedicated autocross, or drive it on the street too? You want to run modified or stock? How much $$$ you got?

Figure dedicated AX car that is street legal. I'm a fan of Stock Classes since I am cheap but willing to listen to alternative views. With the Graduation of my kid from College, we seem to has all the monies these days.

Go buy an ND, and don't look back.

Wait to see what happens with the 2019 and then buy whichever ND is the right one.

I don't have a Truck or a Trailer so no Dedicated race cars for me.

Subayotas might be something to consider... But.....

I hate the thought of autocrossing (or worse, tracking) a car with much value, but an ND is CS is very appealing if you want something reliable and driveable.

Let's throw a couple more out for discussion.

    Mustang & Camaro

I am a fan of the Mustache.

I'm on a roll, it's time to go solo
    Rollin in my 5.0
With my ragtop down so my hair can blow
    The girlies on standby
And the Camaro 1LE 2.0 looks like it could be a fun stock class car.....

I think you can get those in yellow

A Mustang/Camaro could be a nice change of pace you have been in Miata’s a long time. I think you would want to find one you could take a few AX runs in before you buy. Still I vote 2019 ND assuming C Street classing. New 2017 Clubs are going for 7K off, but I think you would want an 2019.

Mustache is nice, but it's no Miata. It would be a much better street car, but not a better AX car.

Yea IIRC it was 1999 when I got the first Miata.

    Almost 20 years of Miatas.

I hated the seating position in the one I drove, maybe with more time adjusting I may have gotten to ok. In an S2000 or Miata you feel like you are wearing the car. The Camaro felt like you were setting on the car with blinders on. The C5 ZO6 Corvette is in between the two.
