been playing with cars for ~30 years and make/weld/adapt my own parts (qualified machinist & weldist)

I've got a reasonably up-to-date thread of my fiddlin on M5's forums

Welcome Rich. This forum has had very low activity lately. But, if you ask a specific questions, I'm sure someone will chime in. The DFW in the url stands for Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. We have a lot of rust free cars here. My car is a "mostly" 1994 M Edition. I do autocross, time trials and track days.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

I'd worked out the forum's main membership location, I'm interested in the years of knowlege & ideas that can be found (& shared)
unfortunately forum traffic has dropped off recently BUT the knowlege is still accessable unlike the hastle of trawling fb etc.

my car is aimed at hillclimb & sprint competition with road use thrown in, building as a 1600 na with hayabusa throttle bodies, modified head, multiplate clutch (future ford straight-cut gearbox?) and a kia 4.778:1 final drive with Ohlins suspension & a bias/adjustable brake pedalbox (work in progress)

Wow, with a 4.778 diff you should be able to climb trees, not just hills. My car is also still road legal.
