Falken Azenis are a great chioce!
I have a 2000 Miata, currently with stock rims (14X6JJ) and BF Goodridge crappy tires 195/60/14. Just started doing SCCA Solo 2, novice (very novice). Looking for something that I can use daily as well as have 'more stick" during the Solo2 events. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

wheels or tires?
Azenis are good tires... Stock wheels work great...

May be both, depending on price.
What class are you planning on running? Many of the Autocross clubs have rules limiting width and offset dependent on the class you run!Originally Posted by skinner

The rules are pretty straight forward on tires & wheels.Originally Posted by skinner
Here is a link to a handy online rendition of the SCCA Rules, this is not 100% up to date but it is a good guide!
I can confirm this. As a nooB myself, I stuck with stock wheels (alloys) and bought a set of Azenis. The car is my daily driver so I want to keep it street friendly. You won't be disappointed with the Azenis!Originally Posted by rx7gslse
If you want, I have a set of stock 99 14X6 wheels, that are nicely painted black for sale. They do have a set of azenis on them, but the tires are pretty old. They are also low on tread, but hey if you are going to tear up tires, theses will do for a few events. Let me know.
Oh I like those Rims they made your car look evil!Originally Posted by Majik
I am probably going to get some kosei k1s, so I need to let a set go. I was going to hang on to the silver 14s I have now since they have the freshest rubber.
If he doesn't want them, how much?

Lightness? What's that? I drive a PRHT!
Hmm, I havent really thought about it, but there is a set on miata.net now for 450. If you run it through the non pointy formula. Divide by 2 add 12.36 raise to the 5th power subtract 3.323212324543267 and then find the square root of that, you come to around $175. I think
175 for the set? if so, i'll take 'em.

Sold to the guy in the corner, wearing.... wait what in the hell is that you are wearing? Is that leiderhosen (sp) uh, you must be friends with Kestrel
HAHAHAHAHAHA
Which German place is it that he hangs out?
Now after rims and an SA2000 rated helmet, I'll have a little money left... I get to decide between the 3M mask or a front sway bar... hmmm...
I guess I need to see how much rx7 pays for his to decide which way I'll go...
I guess it's official that I got bit by the bug on Sunday.
