Probably will only be a 'Dot R' sticker on the inside. No VIN stickers on replacement parts.
I just had the hood replaced on my '04 LS... while they did a really nice job of it, I noticed that it doesn't have any of the "usual" stickers on the underside. I also don't remember if it should have any. Can someone tell me if there should be stickers on the underside of the hood?
I'm being a tad anal here, I know, but I'd like the car to look right... even under the hood.

The replacement hood I got had a Mazda R sticker. Like Sammm said R-DOT. No vin, or anything else. Then I got another hood and it was used from someone, it had their vin and info on it.
I've got a box full of tire manufacturer, oil company, etc., etc., you can have to fulfill your sticker needs.Originally Posted by Dave04
Just an FYI, our '02 has 4 Stickers under the hood.

OK, OK... I don't need a VIN sticker... but the other three would be nice.Originally Posted by Treibenschnell

If they have a part number on them you should be able to order them.
Are you worried about the eventual re-sale price of your Miata because of the replacement hood?Originally Posted by Dave04
Sure... that's part of it. Though I really don't plan to sell it any time soon.Originally Posted by Treibenschnell
It's partly just me being anal and wanting it to look "origional".

I suppose the old hood is long gone? The body shop should've recovered the labels from there.
Yeah, but I'm betting they don't peel off to well.Originally Posted by Darron65
I called Town North and they said they could order them for me. Should be here around Wednesday.

I know everyone has been dying to know the outcome...
I got three of the stickers from Mazda today... now just have to see what it takes to get a VIN sticker made...

I would suppose an act of Congress would be in order!Originally Posted by Dave04
Stickers should come off much easier if you can heat them... a nice hot hair dryer will usually do the trick. Place them on wax paper after you remove them.
We used to do that years ago at a computer store I worked at with warranty stickers on computers when they came in for upgrades/service. Worked like a champ!
Just don't use a heat gun! You'll burn the stickers up.
