    Did you know there was talk about Izzard being the new Dr. Who! They cast someone else though... he would have been fantastic!

    Drift aside, I'm going to let the cake thing slide... but if anyone, and I repeat anyone pokes a badger with a spoon, there's going to be trouble.

    Yeah... watch out for that... that would be an original sin!

    <unreal moment on>

    So people in Texas are Eddie Izzard fans... and know about Doctor Who?

    </unreal moment off>

    I've saved and bought new tires! Hankook Z212's... drove to Dinosaur Valley and back to hopefully take off the mould release, and I'm amazed at how much quieter and more comfortable they are than the Sumitomo rocks - let alone that they grip much, much better!

    Watch out people! I might only be 2 seconds behind the slowest driver tomorrow!

    Absolutely... had a great time.

    To be honest, the heat wasn't that bad...

    That was a lot of fun. The course was a real treat to drive, and quite challenging. Plus, we had two Miatas (and no S2000s) in the top 3 overall!

    IIRC all three top spots were cars built by Mazda!

    Awesome event!

    It was a lot of fun running street tires again, but I had a hard time keeping the Azenis cool.

    BIG THANKS to Clovis for letting me in at the last minute
    I had a blast Saturday.....the most fun course I have driven so far this year, aside from the road course at TMS. Gotta love the sound of the car bumping the rev limiter.
    Thanks Miatamoto for letting me use the sprayer to keep my tires cool.
    No more Miata

    AWESOME course (as in: awe, some of them cones were in the wrong place)

    I am not complaining about course design, having to turn right, or even the heat, but I never got it. I take full responsibility for my lack of skill. It seemed to be the most challenging course I can remember ever driving. OTOH, that's what's wrong with America according to some

    Hey guys, thanks for all of the kind words. The Miata's were rocking out there for sure. I think there was only 1 S2000 on R-compounds that was faster than the top street tired Miata. Nice job! BTW, the fastest "car" out there had less than 35 horses...

    I am calling for an experienced autocrosser to be Chief of Workers. I would like this person to come from the Miata crew. Tasks would include worker assignments at registration, saying a few words at the driver meeting, and checking workers in. This would be your assignment for the day. Please email me at dsmart at s2000 dot org with your interest.

    Yeah... I'm in the same boat... I got pieces of the course, but could never put it all together in the same run. I guess we learn a lot on these types of courses (I did).

    Would have really liked to have found a nice way to take that last hard right coming in to the finish line...

    I found using the brakes worked great! I think Majik and altiain took a similar approach. Coming in hot and pushing the front tires toward the timing tent didn't look like it worked out too well for you guys...

    Wow, that was a fun fun course. Good event. I think there were some issues in grid. It seemed like everyone was being impatient. I like having 5-6 cars all running at a time, and we started like that. After the first wave of cars would run two or three times all of the rest of the cars would come up. It was a line of 15 or more cars. Plus it seemed like people didnt want to let you into line if you got out and changed tire pressure. It seemed more like a parking lot after a baseball game than the usual friendly S2k grid. Just something you guys might want to keep an eye on, great event as usual though.

    I was using the handbrake, is that not the right way around?
