What size? Al Cavan over at Discount in Frisco/Plano has a whole bunch of Hankook's in 15" sizes for $30 each.
Anybody try these? My mom's VW needs new tires and these are 240 shipped.... Good reviews elsewhere. Just wondering if we had any local opinions....

By the way, it's the Hankook K407 tire.
205/50/15 - $30 what did they fall off a truck?

I think Consumer Reports or somebody made them a top rated pick (the Falkens).

They've ordered too many. He asked me to pass on the info after he fixed my tire this morning.Originally Posted by Kags1969

Should it matter, sizes are 205/55-15 and 225/50-15...

Well, these tires have been on the other car for a whopping three hours of drive time.
They're generally okay street tires when off boost. They don't inspire confidence in corners like the 17" Yokos that were on before, but are worlds better than the stockers and drag radials.
Sidewalls seem a little squishy, which might just be the profiles in use or the fact that I'm not used to 'em yet.
For the price I paid, which was about $43 each, I'd say they're a decent investment for a daily driver that doesn't see much "action".

Heh. Resurrecting a thread...
Just ordered a set of these for my VW after discovering I could break traction in 5th gear on wet pavement last night...
My favorite tire guy, Al Cavan, is now at the Coit & 190 location - 209 Coit rd, Plano, TX 75093 - 972.867.8896. No hassle price match of DTDirect or Tire Rack + $10 mounting. Funny how those other DT stores I visited told me the 512's were totally out of stock all over the world! I'll have mine tomorrow, thanks.
