But that's just me...
I've been using a friends license, but that dealership has since closed their doors, so now I have no way of picking up cars at auction. I have always wanted to get mine, but getting a location and going through all the paperwork has never really played out. The money isnt a problem, but I do need a location or someone that already has one who wouldnt mind sharing for a small fee. Lots of money to be made...just need access. So whos with me?

Well if there's one thing I know about these guys, it's that they are FREE and EASY with their money. Where can I send the cash?
From memory here are some of the requirements. Most of these have to be proved on the application with photos or inspection.
$25000 bond which runs around $800 per year
a permanently bolted sign with the dealer name, number and hours in 6 inch letters
pictures of your lot with 5 designated spaces, seperated by a barrier from the rest of the lot
A desk
A phone line
A fax machine
this office cannot be shared with any other company or accessible by a door from another, or a residence
Keep office hour 4 hours per day 5 days a week, either Saturday or Sunday, but not both. They do check this.
"lot insurance" which is like umbrella coverage for anything the dealership owns (not required, but recommended)
if you want an indoor showroom you need another license
"showroom insurance" in case the building burns down
mannheim and other auction fees
line of credit to purchase at auction
That's all I can think of now. Oh yeah it's a good idea to set up a corp or LLP too.
So was I right or wrong? Hmmm....Originally Posted by Treibenschnell

A freind is letting me use some extra space he has at his shop... I'll get some pics up soon. I cant wait to go to the auctions again!
