    Jumping the Shark

If you haven't heard this term before, it refers to when a TV show goes from being good to being bad. It comes from the Happy Days episode where Fonzie jumps a shark tank on his motorcycle.

What are some of your favorite shows that jumped the shark and when did they do it?

Are there any shows that you didn't think jumped the shark?

    My thoughts:

    Jumped the Shark

All in the Family - Edith Dies
ER - Sherry leaves the show but definitely when Doug leaves.
That 70's Show - Hyde's Sister and Dad join the show.
Friends - They started "hooking up" and having babies.
Sienfeld - Last episode (sadly enough since it almost made it without jumping the shark)

    Never jumped

    The Simpsons
Overhaulin' (Although now that Courtney Hansen is gone...)

There have been many shows that I have gone from never miss to could care less, but I have never thought to figure out when it jumped the shark. My list would include:

ER (shortly before Dr. Green died)
Ally Mcbeal (When Jon Bon Jovi joined the cast)
The Practice (Well before the gutted they cast, not sure when though).

How about when Dennis Miller joined Monday Night Football?

In the elaborate wardrobe of human emotions, guilt is the itchy wool turtleneck that's three sized too small. Guilt may be difficult to articulate, but when it surfaces, it's as unwelcome and distinct as Jethro Bodine in the lobby of an Ian Shraeger hotel.

Adding Dennis Miller was Jumping the Shark.

Adding Rush Limbaugh was Mork vs Fonzie.
