Don't forget to install the custom 'Cool-Whip' rain shields to keep those suckers dry!
Hey... Chalk one up for me being cheap... and I'm not even a member of Team CB yet...
Tanner's over West of I-35E on Valwood Parkway (2nd exit North of 635 on I-35E) has some 6 1/2" 2-way speakers with poly cones for $6.95 each.
They are on the endcaps towards the far back left side of the store in individual cardboard wrapping.
They JUST barely fit, but they did fit. Sounds MUCH better than the stock ones which had NO foam left surrounding the cone.
Oh and to get even cheaper: On my 92 the speaker connectors were 1/4" spade lugs! I just had to cut away the plastic connector housing to be able to reuse them.
They are 8 ohm unknown wattage OEM units that have no markings, but have some pretty beefy magnets in them - They are quite a bit deeper than stock but the manual windows weren't affected by that. They still roll down just fine.

Tanner's is your friend...
But your supposed to drop by and say hi at 1750 Valley View if you're that close...
onething did.
What's at 1750 Valley View Lane? (besides you... what business is it?)

Nothing of interest unless your in the commercial real estate game, I'm afraid.
What's Tanners? Cheap electronics store I missed!?
Yup... And a pretty darn good one at that!

I know this thread is old, but how did those speakers work out for you? I took mine out and noticed they were 4 ohms, so wondered if that ended up making any difference in the long run.
Wow... back from the dead...
They worked out great!
Doubt they have any left though. Tanner's carries some things as regular stock and others as surplus - buy 'em while you can - items.

Yeah, looking for some cheap replacements to the ragged out factory speakers I've got now. Hadn't heard of Lightning Audio speakers till your post. Shoot me an email with what you'd take for 'em.
thanks
Andy
I will have to check, but I think I might have a set if they are the blue poly cone speakers. If so, I think that is something they regularly carry.
