Has CLOVIS or someone posted the points-tally for this season?
I sure would like to know how hard I have to try this Saturday.

You may stay home if you prefer. To get 2nd, I have to win, and you have to finish 3rd or lower...
Maybe 4 wheels aren't so bad after all... wickett.org

Whee!! That was fun. Nice long, fast course, beautiful weather, and I got to drive a lot of different fun cars today. Any day where you get to flog a Miata, an S2000, an E46 M3, and RX-8, a C6 Corvette, and an Evo VIII is a good day.

BTW, I take back everything bad I've ever said about Mitsubishi. Any company that can build a car as amazing to drive as an Evo is all right in my book. That car rocked!

So which car did you turn the best time in with?
Daily Driver: 2013 Club edition in Pearl White Mica

    Lightness? What's that? I drive a PRHT!

The Evo, by far. My best time in my own car today was an 83.837. I hopped in the Evo, which had a rear swaybar and V710s as the only mods, and on my 2nd run - with a very soft launch and POS riding along as a passenger, I turned an 82.147. Keep in mind that I've never so much as sat in an Evo before these runs. Without a passenger and without the "it's not my car or my clutch" soft launch, there was an easy low 81 or high 80-second run out there.

By comparison, I ran an 85.8-something in the C6, 87-somethings in both the M3 and the RX-8, and an 89-something in the S2k, but all of those cars were bone stock right down to the OEM tires. The Evo was by far the easiest to push right up to the limits out of the box. Very confidence inspiring.

The S2k and the RX-8 I've driven before, and I enjoy them both (although I prefer the RX-8's more forgiving nature at the limit and the silky smoothness of the Renesis engine at redline). The M3 had a delightful engine and great brakes, but it really didn't like big sweepers. Lots of steady-state push in that car, which is a little disappointing, because otherwise it's a nice package. The C6 was impressive - it feels like a big car when you pull it up to the line, but it really shrinks at speed. Suprisingly nimble and eager to change directions, and nothing in the world entertains like a small block Chevy. The biggest letdown in the C6 was the steering wheel - it feels like it was pulled from a 3500HD pickup, and it has a huge outer diameter. I kept bumping my elbows on both armrests trying to shuffle that big wheel around. I'd definitely have to rethink my driving position the next time I drove one.

Still, none of them were as telepathic as the Evo. It drove like a powerful rear-wheel drive car, except that if you romped on it coming off a corner, instead of the back end getting loose the front diff would pull the car to the inside of the turn and slingshot you off to the next corner. On the second run I kept feeding it power earlier and earlier on corner exit, expecting it to either push or get loose, but it would just grip and go. Very foolproof car, as long as you remembered to brake early, because it would push mildly under braking if you overcooked the corner entry. I really, really enjoyed the Evo.

Lots and lots of fun out there yesterday. I managed to get in the 92 sec range so I've stilll got lots to learn. TC, thanks for the encouraging words, but I'm pretty sure Azeniis wouldn't make a 5 sec improvement.

Drove home with the top down (thanks for the kickass windblocker TtT) and now I have quite an impressive sunburn. Doh!

I think you would be pleasantly surprised with the Azenis or the RS2's!
