Trust you explicitly, but sadly I'll be in North Carolina visiting the folks. Crud.
Would anyone be interested in going up to the Talahimea Parkway, eating at the Queen Wilhelmina Lodge, and back between Christmas and New Year's?
I'm off during that period and will lead us up and back if there is enough interest and you folks trust me.

Not sure where this is... would this be a one day thing?

Add another 18-19 miles from Mena to the park. http://maps.google.com/maps?Distance: 295.8 miles Approximate Travel Time: 6 hours 24 mins
Not obvious here, but great twisty mountain road
Count me in for any of your events, Rudedog. I really enjoyed the last two.
EDIT: just noticed the dates, though. Weekdays might be difficult; I already promised to work so my coworkers could leave.
I guess we need to re-think this time frame.
I need to go mid-week this time of year and that does not seem to work for many folks.
Plus, I now know that I have to have right rotator cup surgery on December 16. Bummer.
I will do this trip and make it an overnighter if at least two others want to go in February, March, or April on a weekend or Friday-Saturday.
I'll start the discussion then and see what works around the ax schedules.
