The twist handle seems like a nice idea but could you really get the bolt tight enough like that?
I saw a cool new tool at Home Depot yesterday.
It's a socket wrench but what is unique about it is that it functions as a normal ratchet with a 6 degree arc but also has a twist handle that that allows for a zero degree arc to turn a socket. Great for tight places.
Here it is....
Husky Rotator Ratchet
Anyone have this that can comment on its usefullness?

I bet you could with some nice Channel Lock pliers... "Guaranteed Forever"... wonder if they accept abuse of tools like Sears does.

I'd almost bet you'll break it trying to get a really tight bolt loose...but keep us posted

I'll wait until they are on sale... I have enough socket drivers right now - I can't justify another one yet. I also have my own Channel Locks... Maybe you should look at buying your own tools?Originally Posted by riverracer

SK Tools has had those types of wrenches out for a while... and you can get them through the Sears catalog or Sears.com
You may want to check with this guy he was asking the exact same question on Miata.net! What are the chances!

I have one, son-in-law gave it to me for my birthday. It is really handy when you don't have a lot of swing space for the rachet handle. You know like when you can only get one or two clicks of rotation on the socket. Once you get the bolt broken loose you can just back it out by rotating the handle back and forth.

I'd guess not very well... it kinda ruins the whole leverage principle.Originally Posted by black roadster
In a couple of situations that I have used it in I had enough room to loosen or tighten the bolt using it like a normal ratchet, once it was loosened I used the twist handle to get the bolt out. It just makes getting the bolt out of a tight space much faster and less agravating. It will tighten a bolt down but not as tight as you would probably want it. I'm sure that you could probably break it if you used another tool to grip the handle. You can break anything it you put a big enough cheater bar on it.
