    Probably... some of those 1600 and 1800cc motors can really be massaged over and produce some great numbers.

    I had a friend in highschool with a VW Notchback That was stupid fast. I don't think I have ever seen another street car that would lift the front wheels off the ground on launch. He treated the engine as a consumable commodity. As soon as a new engine went in, he was building up the replacement.
