Every year, the sleepy farming burg of Lind, Washington goes from a population of about 500 to a bustling party of 4,000. What's the big idea? Combine destruction derby, of course. FarmersAlmanacTV (who knew?) chronicles the shenanigans in great detail, including breaking down the rules (several heats, all farm implements must be 25 years of age or older, etc.).
Make plans to see the next one for yourself on June 10. Remember, there's a grain truck race at intermission, ya'll!

I don't obviously expect that we'll drive to Lind, Washington, to witness this madness but man, this is so freakin' cool!

Maybe, but look at that maniac strapped into a chair on the front of the burgundy columbine. Holy crap! It would be so cool to see that in person.Originally Posted by riverracer

That's great... those machines are usually bought via taxpayer money through farmer subsidies.
Just a small contention of mine... pay no mind!
Over 25 years old..., subsidies usually spring for the newest gear. No way one of those things actually still works for farming from back in the 70's or early 80's with constant use.
But that is definately dangerous, and definately awesome! Who needs rollcages?
