    Default External Hard Drive

Would this be a decent external drive for pulling Video off a Camcorder??

Learned this weekend that my home computer doesn't have sufficient hard drive space to store an entire dance recital!

As long as your computer support USB 2.0, that should work great.

A sticker on it says it does 2.0, but should I belive it!

Got another question, how much hard drive would one need to dump an entire tape??

Depends on your goal. If you want highest quality, I think it runs about 150 MB/Minute - about 9 GB/hour

For distribution over PC, you're looking at < 1GB/hour for good quality.

A standard tivo runs about 1GB/hour so that will give you good quality.
