OK, I don't know if this is the correct place to post about Hallett but.........
Who has been there and what should/could we expect.
Recommend the track day or the cruise?
    Many MME going?
    TIA.

Never been there, so don't know what to expect.

Again, haven't been there, but how can you pass up track time?

I'll be there with bells (or at least a helmet) on...

Are you talking about the Arkansas Miata Club's Miatas @ Hallett '06 event?

Hallett is a great track - by far one of the best I've run (although I haven't run the new section at MSR). The Arkansas Miata folks put on a great show at the last event I attended.

I intend to be there, if I still have the Miata at that time, I think Tim the Teacher, Sharpie, and Track Dog are also planning on going.

The cruise was added for those that either didn't want to try the track (men and women). It's a very friendly environment for someone who has never been on a track. They will provide instructors if you need one. I have been every year and had a blast, not just at the track, but also at the banquet Sat. night and even tech. on Friday night. I highly recommend it. Now I just need to register, I got something in the mail yesterday.

I go to Hallett at least 5 times a year and wish it could be more. Hallett is a fun track that makes MSR boring IMO, great elevation change. Although I haven't driving the new part at MSR yet, I haven't heard the best reviews. Hallett is a bit hard on brakes, if you're driving correctly that is!

We have raced motorcycles, go-karts and Miatas on Hallett and it is one of our favorite tracks, lots of elevation. As Chris said you need good brake pads, recommend putting on a NEW set of Hawk HP+. Remember you need to be able to drive home so don't skip on this! We have a large group going already and could use more staying at the Hampton in Sands Springs. You can click the Hallett Event link at our site if you want.

    Default I'm in, part way

I got my hotel reservation at the Hampton today, now I need to get the application in.
We might do the tour, etc. and watch the track time as we're off for a few days in the Ozarks from there.

But I don't think the CheckerMobile will be in 'track' condition by then. Need somewhere to stay to or from, we are right off 35 in Edmond(?).
