About five minutes if I remember correctly...
So I have a check engine light, I went over to autozone to get the obd info read. They said it had a faulty EGR pressure sensor, and its a dealer only item.
So my question is what is a EGR pressure sensor, what does it do, how hard is it to replace myself, and how long does it normally take to replace one?
Thanks,
Matt

What is the year and mileage of the car? I believe that would be one of the parts covered by the mandated 8 yr/80k mile Federal Emission Coverage.

Opps, I updated my profile, My Miata is a 99 with 86k miles on it.
Thanks!!
Now the rest of you slackers do the same!
I recently updated my "to do list" :)

What code number did it kick?? Did the nice folks at VatoZone share that with ya??
My last code read by VatoZone was wrong. The kid told me what it was but that didn't match the actual code the car was giving, he must have misread something....... YMMV
I'm sure it is the dreaded 402. This is not really a bad EGR sensor, but carbon build-up in the intake manifold. NB's are notorious for throwing that code, typically at around 80K miles. There are lots of posts on it. Search for Seafoam, it is a cleaner that you introduce into the intake to clean all that soot out. Just don't do it IN the garage

I did the seafoam treatment this weekend, and the CEL cleared, if it doesn't come back by the end of the week I will consider the problem fix. I hope to worked, otherwise I will have some work to do to clean it.
Thanks,
Matt
It will come back, Matt....but probably not for another 40K miles or so. Not to worry, though, it doesn't hurt anything, other than the fuel economy
