Decided to get a "baseline" drag time, so took my 99.9% stock car to the 1/8mi strip in Grand Prairie.
Did a total of 22 runs. Reaction and 60ft times were crappy on most. Best run was:
RT: 0.961
60ft: 2.359
MPH: 64.00
ET: 10.751
Me and a good friend of mine took turns driving, and we both put down the same times.
I actually beat a 98 Mustang GT 5-spd! Guy had an intake and a side exhaust, but he was sleeping at the line, if he had another 15ft he would have pulled the win.
RT - .785 vs 1.456
60ft - 2.488 vs 2.388
MPH - 63.92 vs 68.59
ET - 11.011 vs 10.367
Miata FTW!!
Wealth, power, and experience are apparently not enough to save us from social influences. Groupthink, as described by I.L.Janis, is the tendency for group members to reach a consensus opinion, even if that decision is downright stupid (Janis 1982).
