Hi Guys,
I've just realized at my usual gas station (Shell @ Richardson) that a sticker on the pump says that gas may contain up to 10% Ethanol.
First of all I don't like that "may", i'd like to know exactly what I'm putting in my gas tank.
For some time now I've got the feeling that my NC has lost some power during hard acceleration, and I'm wondering if this ethanol blend has something to do with it.
So I was looking for a gas station with "pure" premium gas to do a comparison and realized that each one I've checked so far has that ethanol sticker...
Do you guys know any gas stations in North Dallas / Richardson / Plano that do NOT mention ethanol ?
Do you think that a 10% ethanol blend might reduce power output and/or decrease gas mileage ?
Maybe 4 wheels aren't so bad after all... wickett.org

Vehicles not designed to run on ethanol will run on it as long as its 10% or less in the mix. Since it takes much more ethanol than gasoline to release the same amount of energy, I would think it might degrade performance a very small amount.

as per the Energy Policy Act of 2005- the government mandated 3% ethanol content in all gasoline. its supposed to rise to 5 or 6% in the next few years. any gasoline that you find anywhere in the US, MUST have 3% ethanol, its the law.
