When I got the old hoses off, there were score marks on the stubs. Looks like they had been changed before. But, I don't know when.

It took me about 45 minutes to get the old hoses off. I had to take the cam sensor off to get to the engine end of the inlet hose. That is where the rupture was. It took me about an hour and 15 minutes to get everything back together. I replaced the O-ring on the cam sensor. The old one was hard and not sealing. I think the leaking oil caused the hose to deteriorate. I also did the timing bump while I was in the neighborhood.

My arms are scratched up like I have been sorting wildcats. I had much rather work on my 1948 Ferguson, but I had much rather drive the Miata.

My hat is off the miatamoto. Half hour. He's the man.

Not yet. The car is still in the shop. I started it and let it warm up, no leaks I can see. But, no road test until tomorrow.

I wanted to fix dinner for my wife , so the car gets more time in the morning.

No - he's retired from teaching and his wife is still teaching. Not so much an as skilled at avoiding

What cone-cerned failed to mention while singing my praises in the original post was that he was on the way to meet me for dinner.
