Put some air in the tires!![]()
I was running the 195/50/15's and just switched to the 205/50/15's, it seems like the car is a little more wiggly in the rear and doesn't turn as quick is this normal?
The tires grip way better but the rear does seem more loose, I am running the FM sways front and back, would it help to put the factory bar back on and pull the FM bar?
I am also running my KYB's at 3 in the front and 1 on the rear, getting the new alignment on Monday but it seems to be going down the road straight so I am thinking it wont help all that much.
Thanks

A couple thoughts...
1) You ended up passing on the Azenis, known for turn-in. I don't believe the toyos you ended up with are known for the same level of turn-in ability.
2) I have read posts from the pointy board from people saying that they were experiencing tread squirm when their toyos were new. I believe it went away with time.
3) How to fix your set-up
good deal thanks, makes sense

So go for a nice, long drive... and don't make any turns.![]()
Got the alignment today and the tires re-balanced and the car is back to normal with the exception that it turns much better than with the buttery ES100's....now I cant wait to go do some AutoXing, new motor, new tires....I won't know how to act, that should go along nicely with my not knowing how to drive...lol

Well the shimmy is back again, I had the alignment guy look for bent or broken parts when he worked on the car, and had the balancing guy look both said everything looked fine.
everything looked good to me when I had the old rims off
Any suggestions on what to look at/for?

This shimmy??
Does the Miata 65mph shimmy stay at only 65mph? mine is shaking from around 60 on up.
I am taking the car back to the balancing guy today.
I have never had this particular problem before, and I have the PPF, shock tower brace,FM sways, rollbar etc etc....it shoudln't shake I would think and it didnt before with the old tires.

The alignment tech told me that the reason for the shaking wouldnt be caused by the car being out of alignment but rather the tires being out of balance...$60.00 later the balancing folks said they were only off by 3/4 af an ounce on two wheels, its weird though I drove home down the interstate at speed and it seemed fine but last night I drove into Ft Worth and the shaking was back, not quite as bad but back none the less.
The steering still feels pretty sloppy too,the tires are stickier I can tell that but there is much more play in the steering wheel.
I got them re-balanced because of what the tech said and i know sometimes people make mistakes

When I got my Heliums with the original Azenis, They came mounted and balanced for Discount Tire Direct, and I paid extra for the Ride Match service. I got them and they had pad shimmy over 50 mph. I took them to my local tire shop and they said they were way out of balance. They re-balanced and gave me a printout of before and after balance info. Shimmy went away and Discount refunded my Ride Match fee after I faxed them my bill for the re-balance.
I ended up going with the Toyo R1's they came off backorder before my order went out so thats what they sent.
I am thinking I should have went with the Azenis in the 195's
I know I am not paying another cent on this combo, so if this time doesn't cut it I guess I am stuck til the next year.

Opps sorry I misread, my bad!
Any of the wheels have an excessive amount of weights on them?? I had one on my OTM that was shaking the dealer deflated the tire broke it off the rim spun it 180 degrees remounted it and rebalanced it no more shimmy.
