Hmm, looking past the goofy height and wagon wheels, with a proper stance and rims, I can see potential. Looks to me like a bit of a mx5/rx7 hybrid.
It's got a funky hump between the trunk lid and the top...
I saw in a pointy board thread that someone got the chance to ask a Mazda engineer about the wheel gap. He was told that the height was chosen because they determined it was the lowest it could be while still allowing enough clearance for the average northerner to get snow chains on the car.

Since your average northener uses snow tires instead of chains these days, I'm not buying it. I'd bet it was actually to meet minimum headlight height requirements.

saw it at zoom Zoom, with the top down, YUCKY!, Do to the fact that when the top is down the boot does not cover the whole top, just threw the lines all out of wack.

Well I really liked it. Yes, the lines are not 100% perfect, but they are not nearly as bad in person. I can overlook the slightly awkward lines when you consider what they did with getting a hardtop to retract without affecting the trunk. Add a pair of springs to drop it a few inches and I would proudly drive one.
Saw it at the Zoom-Zoom. I thought it was much better in person also. Did not appear so truckish (but still needs to come way down).
Amazing that the whole thing only adds 70 pounds to the package.
The red MX-5 was the first car I drove for the day and I liked it too. No so much for the styling, but for the added power over my car. I got the "slow down" thing also
Today I did a Cadillac golf clinic (w/ Tom Watson) at Castle Hills. They let us drive anything but the XLR (gee, I wonder why?). Anyway, the power hardtop on that car is super slick and the car actually looks great with the top up.
Definately not a Zoom-Zoom event though, as the drives were through mostly residental streets (should be called snooze-snooze). On the return route though, the CTS-V lit up the tires nicely, including the upshift to 2nd with the manual slushbox.
Alas, my golf swing still...
