Wow! Enough responses to get to Page 3 already. I'm impressed.

Already got a call in. :) I can forgive leather, I just like cloth better.

That's not a common feature on an NA or even an NB.
Yep we even did a poll about ABS a while back, seems as if ABS equipped miatas are rare!

    Linky!

Not if you buy a MSM, but I don't think there are any in that price range

I got my Miata for $500. It's a 95 with only 80,000 miles. Runs and drives really good, but it needs cosmetic work... needs a new fender, hood, a wheel... etc. It's been wrecked, but it still drives straight and handles better than any car I've ever had. Don't automatically disregard a car just because it's a little bit dented. It doesn't take much to total out an older car... light body damage that is easilly fixed can be enough.

By the time I replace the fender and hood and get them painted I'll still be into this car for less than $2k.

Just have to be patient and wait for the right one to appear, then be ready to buy immediately with cash in hand. When a good one comes up, it's time to go buy it, because if you wait until the weekend, or even until after work or soccer practice or whatever, someone else will snatch it up.

A buddy bought a '91 BRG that was advertised on this board. 75k miles, new top, more than decent cosmetics, ABS. It did need a clutch, tires and a battery, but it's a clean, relatively low-mileage, unmolested car -- and it was only $2k.

We did the clutch over a couple of weekends, along with all the seals, hoses, etc. on the back of the engine for a couple hundred in parts. Add in a cheap set of Falken 512's and he's got a great, reliable car with NO issues for right about your stated budget.

Good luck with the search, it's the right time of year...
