Now I've got to dig out the "Airplane!" DVD and watch it tonight.

Wow, what a day. Thanks again to Doug for letting be co-drive the first half of the event and Robert for loaning me two wheels. I guess that's what I get for cutting it so close with my tires. I put the Miata on jacks as soon as I got home and took the wheels and new tires up to the tire place to have them mounted.

Anyone get any details on the plane crash?

It was great seeing everyone there.

Jerett, what happened to your tires? Cord them? Didn't you just put them on in June? How many runs/miles?

Not me. I was working corner 5 and was busy watching S2000's zip by on both sides of me.

    You are welcome.

I had fun today, even though I was DFL Miata.

As usual, great to see everyone. Even if you 's do faster than me.

Good question, SixAce. I was meaning to see how many races I got from them and you just reminded me.

Yes, I put them on July 18th. Based on results from web sites, here are the races they saw:

    ER #5 Pennington
    ER #6 Pennington
    ER #7 Pennington
    ER #8 Mineral Wells
    ER #9 Mineral Wells
    ER #10 Mineral Wells
    Lonestar BMW #5 Mineral Wells
    Lonestar BMW #8 Mineral Wells
    PCA Autocross #5 Mineral Wells
    S2K #3 Mineral Wells
    S2K #4 Mineral Wells
S2K #5 Mineral Wells (rear tires only)
    SCCA #5 Mineral Wells
    SCCA #6 Mineral Wells
    SCCA #7 TMS Bus Lot
    SCCA #8 TMS Road Course

I guess 16 races, mostly at Mineral Wells.

76 runs seems a little thin for "street" tires... how many miles since July?

I think he's planning on keeping the Miata... but he's got a diesel Jetta he'd be happy to sell you!

I had fun today, at least during the regular runs. Not so much during the fun runs. The Elise is an impressive car, but it has some, uh... interesting braking quirks.

Sad to hear about the people in the plane crash. I still can't believe I never saw a thing.

Yeah man I hope your day got better! I had a fun battle with Miatamoto and we are waiting on the official recount for the results. I have a bad feeling though, he was really fast.
