Saw this and I am thinking about buying it, but have talked to a few people who say to stay away from the Short Shifters. Comments

I fixed the link for you there Magma. I havent driven a 6speed very much, but I would find better things to spend money on based on how my 5speed shifts. It is very short and I would hate to make it more notchy. It would be hard to improve on the stock in my opinion. Is the 6 a long throw?
I totally agree with Majik. I wouldn't want a shorter and more notchy shift.

Now the throw is not long by any means, Just something I saw and as a former Civic owner it was a mod I wanted to make on that car. Most of the opinions I have been getting are that the kits do create a notchy shift, and that I do not want.

I've always heard the shifters on the Miatas being praised for being perfect from the start...

Dunno about that. Most of the kits on the market merely change the height to acheive a shorter shift. You can do the same by cutting your stock linkage down and rethreading it.
Billy Howell had a shifter on his '99 years ago that actually changed the fulcrum point. I believe it was a Mazdacomp part. While it did raise the shifting effort, it wasn't notchy, and it was an improvement over stock, which isn't something I would say about most short shifters I've driven.
