I'm by no means an expert, but my guess would be a 95 Merlot Mica (Special/M Edition, I believe). Very, very pretty. I was going to look at one just before I bought my 2001, but the guy sold it before I got there.

I guess the real question is did it taste like root beer or merlot? You did taste it, didn't you?

I'm talking about the color you see on some of the older BMW Z3s it is a dark metallic brown. It's not the merlot cause there is one of those sitting next to it.

No OEM color even close to brown.

I think I saw the car in question on 190 a few days ago. Paint looked too fresh to be as old as the car, plus they never painted 'em that color...

Honda sells the Element in a color called Rootbeer. You're sure it was a Miata, and not an Element?
