This place in Gainesville, Fl called Tire Kingdom. (They had ASE Certified mechanics) I didn't think it was that big of a deal I mean how hard can it be to put on a timing belt.....or so I thought...

Well lucky for me the mechanic said it can be fixed without replacing the Crankshaft. Basicaly the locktite solution at the end of this article:
    http://www.miata.net/garage/crankshaft.html
cost (With an aditional water pump that was failing) = $1,100

Yes, I still plan on getting a new motor. I plan to get a stroker from FM sometime later this year. and toss in a turbo or s/c

I just want what I have to last long enough to get what I want.

I'm sure some of that has to do with them finding the mysterious problem, which I'm Ok with to an extent. I'm just growing weary of dealing with this problem with little results. I don't have a good setup to do any of the work myself. Especialy something as major as this.

Well, I finaly got my car back. After they fixed the problem with the crank shaft/woodruff key and put on the new parts that had been damaged due to the key breaking. The car runs great. Its been so long since I've driven my car I forgot what it fealt like. It was like learning to drive at 13 all over again
