yup. i like it. heres a day picture of it. Now i'm saving up for either a roll bar or suspension. i'm leaning towards the roll bar mainly because my mom said when i bought the car "you better get a rollbar" i put the top up and down a lot so i was aiming towards the harddog deuce but i will be autocrossing so that took that out.

Welcome! I'd vote for the suspension over the rollbar. Some people argue that having a roll bar on a street driven Miata is more dangerous than not having one. Getting in a fender bender and bumping your head on the bar is more likely to happen than a rollover.

I understand though. My wife was a little upset when I pulled my rollbar out.

Very nice ride! If you autox, check what class you want to run in, but I agree suspension, then roll bar. And before either of those, work on the nut behind the wheel. Seat time is the best upgrade. Remember too, trucks could see that mustang easier than your new miata. Pretend you're invisible to other drivers.

Sharpie is right, if you are interested in being competitive in autocross, start with seat time. Once you learn more about the sport you will also be able to pick out your modifications according to classing.

He's right about pretending to be invisible to other drivers. Remember "loud pipes save lives." So go get an exhaust!

As for exhaust i was thinking of getting the rb dual. i dont want too loud. i drive waaay too much. I was reading the events and you guys like to get together on wednesday nights. i should be able to attend no problem. i know you guys have an informal one on saturday but i'll have to plan for that as my days off are usually tuesday, wednesday.

You should try out this event (AX101) in February if you can. It would be a good learning experience:

Go to the wednesday night meets and check out the exhausts people have on there cars. That will give you a good idea of what's loud to you and what's not. RB is a good one if you like quiet.

    Cool

Amazing how many previous muscle car owners there are driving "girly" Mata's

One must drive a Miata to get it, as it took me 10 years to realize it was the car I'd been craving, and just didn't know it, cause I was judging the car based on image alone.

Welcome, I traded a 98 Trans-Am for a VW. But the VW wasn't doing it, so 10 months later I drove a Miata and bought one a few weeks later, then sold the VW back to a dealer, for a minor loss. Well worth it!

Or, "Loud pipes annoy the shit out of other drivers, leading to road rage and urges to run you over to end the noise!" At least that's my thoughts when certian bikers go by.

LOL! I'm with you, I was joking about the loud pipes comment. I really dislike Harleys.

I'm mixed on the loud pipes topic. Loud pipes help, but I dislike Harleys as well. Since Harley drivers don't drive like sport bike drivers, I believe that sport bikes should be the loud ones, since they tend to maneuver roads at higher speeds.

The extra noise just makes us sportbikers bigger targets...but I still want a pipe.

I like both types of bikes but I hate super loud pipes regardless...no different than Johnny Rice Boy and his 150 db fart can.

i like bikes i just don't trust myself with one. As for the pipes i just like a little louder than stock. When i had the mustang i had one of the quietest mustangs i've ever seen.
