But seriously. I just ordered a hold-down kit from a guy off Miataturbo.net. I haven't heard back from him so hopefully I didn't get screwed

You will waste your time and money if you show up with your battery or intake flopping around like a wounded

I am not trying to discourage your participation, but loose batteries are the #1 cause of failing tech inspection. I don't work as a tech inspector often, but the last time I did we sent a guy to the parts house to buy a tie down for his Hondu.

As resident S2k club Tech Nazi, I can assure you that we won't.

At the very least, you need to secure that battery and your intake. I'd also let some of the "seasoned" guys at next weekend's tech day give the car a thorough once over. It's a long drive to Mineral Wells to get turned away at the door. I hate failing cars, but we don't take safety lightly.

Well like I said, I have a battery kit on the way. Even if I didn't somehow pass inspection after the prep day, I could still watch and learn

Nah... it is usually too windy out there for an umbrella.

Hmm what is decent? Are we talking about your decent or my decent? I'm just curious because I don't want to offend anyone else's decent...

I'm guessing somehow that didn't call for a 60% chance of showers when it was posted...

As far as I can tell it reads 60 degrees with a likelihood of smashed hardtops and busted clams...Altiain is going to be there right?

OOOOO... you're right. Good thing I won't be there.

BTW, would somebody who is going to be at the March BMWCCA event pick up my trophy from last season. Thanks in advance!
