I am not trying to discourage your participation, but loose batteries are the #1 cause of failing tech inspection. I don't work as a tech inspector often, but the last time I did we sent a guy to the parts house to buy a tie down for his Hondu.
As resident S2k club Tech Nazi, I can assure you that we won't.
At the very least, you need to secure that battery and your intake. I'd also let some of the "seasoned" guys at next weekend's tech day give the car a thorough once over. It's a long drive to Mineral Wells to get turned away at the door. I hate failing cars, but we don't take safety lightly.
