My favorite onion is the 1015.
Got to discussing this with some co-workers. This one is mine. What's yours?

PS -- The fact that the Onion has been discussed on DFW Miata before does not make this a repost.

I don't read it much. There's just not enough time in a day! There is an honorable mention of Miata in the Aries Horoscope but that's probably old news.
BTW Vidalias and 1015 are both great (they could be twins!), and the Blooming Onion blows away that wimpy Awsome Blossom.

Today, the common misconception is that the 1015 onion is named after the location where it was developed, on South Farm-to-Market Road 1015.
But Dr. Juan Anciso, extension vegetable specialist at Texas A&M Agricultural Extension Center in Weslaco, clarifies the confusion pretty quickly.
"It’s a coincidence, but no, the onion is named after the ideal planting date" of Oct. 15, he said.
