If you read the comments on the pointy board he has sold over 600 of these things and I haven't read anything truly negative regarding the performance of it. Most people rave about it and there have been few complaints.

    Most common complaints

Appearance - It is certainly function over form.
Bugs sucked in - Resolved with a bug screen on new units and a retrofit kit on the older ones.
Blowing off - Resolved if you use the supplied fasteners.
He even replaces blown off ones for about $10 and has only had to replace 10-15 with no repeat incidents.

I know a few folks have said these are wine and cheesy, silly, ugly, don't work, whatever but not from anyone that has actually bought one.

I'm looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about. I love the top down but won't be miserable to just have the top down. If this keeps me any cooler on hot days, I'll consider it a success.
Yep that would be me! I guess I'm the black sheep in the crowd. As someone mentioned, in the middle of July down here even with the top down doing 80mph, when the sun is out even a strong wind is hotter'n'hell! I'm content with either turning the fan on vent and foot setting and if it gets hot enough hit the ac button like say at stops. I am curious to get a ride after yous guys get'em in!

Don't mean to sound like a cheap ass.....ok I am, but why not just turn the outside air vent on, crank the fan up, and set it to blow on your feet. This is essantially the same thing, especially in Texas. Think about those summer temps of 90-100, that air isnt very cool.... just my 2 cents. oh and that design looks like something you could fab up yourself for cheaper. Plus the opening is ridic small I dont see how thats going to help.

You have'nt seen the ridic small vents on airplane then, have you.

It does'nt take much at 60mph to bring in a lot of wind.

Coming from someone that does NOT have AC

To spend 30 bucks to bring in more air is a deal, even with the top down there is no air flow around your legs&feet

oh but I have, I lived overseas for 5 years. Many a 18 hour flight back to texas...those vents suck, but they arent as bad as the miata vents. If you cant handle the heat stay outta the seat....haha arent I clever...

I guess I should have specified General Aviation(i.e. Pipers, Mooneys and Cesnas).

The gasper vents which you are refering to are actually air conditioning hooked up through an air cycle air conditioner taken off after one of the stages of the engine compressor blades(3rd or 4th IIRC).
