Never been, can't help you there. You and the GF enjoy yourselves. You've more than earned it!
Well I finnaly found out my R&R dates for Australia next month. The GF and I will be there for 2 weeks. She's already planned alot of stuff to do Brisbane, Cairns, Alice Springs and back to Sydney.
Anyone been and have some recomendations other than the traditional tourist stuff?
I've been researching renting an exotic there, but the most that I see I qualify at 25 is a Lotus Elise at ~$300USD a day. I've thought about renting one for a day.
What I'd really like to rent is a Skyline though....

I spent some time on the coast and Brisbane was my favorite town. Beautiful riverfront and great night life. Have fun at all of the casinos if the exchange rate is favorable.
In Sidney, check out the opera house, the harbor, and maybe take a tour on the harbor bridge. You hook up on a safety line and climb to the top. Bondi beach was nice, but I don't know what the weather is going to be like for you.
If you get a nice car to rent, tour the great ocean road. The twelve apostles was a beautiful thing to see.

Enjoy the R&R... like sammmmy said, you've more than earned it!
My brother lives in Alice Springs... give him a call if you have extra time there and he'll show you around...
The nice thing about the outback is that some of the major highways have no speed limit... just look out for the Roo's...
Driving down and climbing Ayer's Rock (aka Uluru) is also worth it:
and lastly, the cliffs outside Sydney are pretty cool...

You lucky lucky dog! If I were going to Australia, I would re-read Bill Bryson's wonderful -- and very funny -- book In a Sunburned Country.
I always like to read something that provides local flavor when I travel. I can't think of a better travel book for a Yank in Australia.

Yea we are definatley going to the Opera and a sunset walk up the bridge. We will be in Alice Springs for more than a couple days too.
I heard Aussie women love Americans b/c they are not quite as rough to em.

well since youre there you could pick up a link ECU from the manufacturer. its about $700 less than buying it from flyin miata. one of the dealers is http://www.advanperformance.com.au/page3/page3.html
well you could also order one from Link shipped here for $1100, but if you feel like driving around sydney and want to do some car stuff...
Still trying to track down a Skyline.
I'm probaly gonna go with the Greddy eManage when I get back.
