Thread: Oil Pan Gasket

    Default Oil Pan Gasket

It seems my oil pan gasket has started leaking. Right now it isn't leaking too bad. More seeping than leaking.

Is this something that could be done at a tech day or am I looking to make a call to Gary or Rogue? Anyone ever changed the pan gasket?

I think you need to drop the sub frame or pull the engine to get the oil pan off.

Did some research on the ^ board. Seems a leaking oil pan is pretty rare but you are correct in that you have to pull the motor or subframe.

Upon further investigation it may be my front crank seal. I changed it about 47k miles ago. Next project is to take it to a pay and spray and clean off the gunk. Next timing belt is in 24k miles so it can wait until then as it isn't too bad except the oil running down the entire bottom of the car.

i'm in the same spot, but mine got worse so becareful. The oil got onto
the belts and made them slip on the crank pulley till they busted lose. No belt
to turn the alternator, water pump, nor power steering... my radiator broke and my battery is dead...

Try not to drive the car too much, and when you fix that leak make sure
you replace your timing belt along with the other two belts... Tech day sounds good...
