Of course there are some that say the miata is ugly, corners like a boat etc but the ones that know what it can do chime in and say it's a great car.
Linkie
It starts out with the OP trying to predict the demise of the Miata.
It's amazing all the nice things other Solstice owners had to say about our car!

I think the NC looks like a bucket of smashed buttholes, but I'll defend it to my last breath from Solstice drivers
09 Lexus RX350
.... no Miata
Well, I love the NC. Fix the 4x4 stance and it is a winner in my book.
In that case I'll rephrase my statement...
Compared to an NA it looks like I described. However, if it was the first Miata I'd seen, I'd be all over it like stink on doody
Okay I'll admit it's kinda pretty once it's lowered. I don't know what I'm saying. You can put me on ignore
09 Lexus RX350
.... no Miata
But seriously, though.
I think that the Solstice is a good looking car. I wished that the engineers would figure out a way to make the trunk a little more user friendly.
I also liked the firs generations of the MR2 and Fiero when they both came out. I thought they did an excelent job of copying and making a much more reliable Fiat X-1/9. I wished that I had only had the since to put my money on the Toyota MR2 rather than the Fiat. I would probably still have it in my collection, whereas the Fiat lived up to it's name(Fix it again Tony).

I've seen mostly chicks driving Solstices... and all of a sudden I've started seeing Skys, driven by people convinced they got a good deal at a happy Saturn dealer...
IMHO, the cars look pretty sharp, but everything I've read about them would lead straight to a Mazda dealer if I were in the market for a new 2-seater. The trunk is small, the gearbox in the base model has gimpy ratios, you can't see out with the top up, etc etc etc...
The Sol-sky strikes me as more of a show car that made it to production, rather than something that can actually be used every day.

Really? I know I do a ton of driving going to all the hockey rinks across the metromess, but I see at least 5 a week! As oppossed to maybe 1 or 2 NC's a week.
Yeah, a show car that Grassroots Motorsports said they'd pick hands down over the NC if they wanted to win SCCA showroom stock!
But yeah, as a daily driver the trunk sucks hardcore! You can actually fit quite a lot in the Miata trunk, especially the newer ones.

Yeah, we all know you like the GM Twins better.
I've seen more NCs than Sol/Skys.
I'd also take a Mazda over any GM product any day regardless of any automobile journalist's opinion.
Let's see how much of a following the GM Sisters have in 20 years. We'll also see how many 200k mile ones are driving around in 10 years. The Miata is bullet proof and a classic.
Think GM will sell anywhere near a half million units before they drop it?

LOL! Urban Dictionary describes it quite well.

If anyone still has no idea what this is about... then this should give you a fair representation w/o the gory detail...
Plus, it would make an awesome Halloween decoration...
