That's so MadMaxx!!!!
I've always liked tastefully done flat black. Turbo magazine had a 240 hatch with 400+ whp and flat black paint that had a clearcoat over the flat black. It looked just like this.
I was actually going to do that with my car when I had it painted. Chickened out at the last minute though... that looks nice!!

I think if it looks like the batmobile it can pull it off. these other cars don't look so hot.
PPG makes a two stage paint in this color called Hot Rod Black that is semi gloss like above, and they also make a flattening agent to mix with paint that gives it a primer flat look like their DP90 black primer without the long term uv degredation and fading in addtition to primer absorbing moisture causing the underlying metal to rust if it is painted over bare metal and not covered with a color coat.
Yep, the flattening agent is the key to final product. This car looks great compared to the Silver we always see presented as. The lines and reveals are so much better looking now. Paints have come a long way over the years. I too am a fan of PPG, and also am eager to see some older sprays with their water based technologies.
Yep, sure does.
