Default 1999 Miata with 156K Miles... too many miles?

    Too many miles?

The price is $5,200... everything runs fine including the A/C.

I am torn because it seems for a few more thousand I can get one with half the miles.

Would like to get some opinions.

Car will be my daily for my 2 mile commute and a car to run on the track.

My wife has a new car so that will be our road trip car!

I am guessing no... however that is a good question to ask.

With a good documented maintenance history the mileage is fine. With unknown maintenance, I'd find another.
    ...and across the line.

No service records... I agree with the above.

I think its worth spending ~$2,000 more for a documented 99 with half the miles. It was just the price that was amazing. Too tempting!

My car is for sale so I am not in a big rush... if a great deal comes along I will jump on it.

Try Craigs List (www.craigslist.org). Good source for local cars (and everything else too)! I found mine on the Craigs List in SA.

Yep... I am a craigslist... and a crazedlist fanatic.

That is where I found this one!

That sounds like a pretty good deal on a NB. If the compression test checks out I'd pick it up and then just do the proper maintenance for peace of mind. I could hardly find any very clean low mileage NA's around here for 5000ish.
