I'll have to try it and see if it compares to the ToTD.

I'm out here in New Mexico... I've been all over the state for the last 2 weeks, and I just got into Silver City yesterday. Anyhow, I cut across from I-25 to Silver on Hwy 152 (exit 63, just south of Truth or Consequences) - across the Black Range. If you get the chance, map out Hillsboro, NM on the Google Map, and zoom in on that road. It's effing crazy - a solid half-hour or more of 2nd gear switchbacks, hairpins, and squiggles (edit: forgot to mention that it's 75 thoroughly entertaining miles from I-25 to Silver City) - all at high altitude, and it was fairly deserted! I almost peed myself a couple of times, and didn't have a chance one to take a picture...
Good times!

Lightness? What's that? I drive a PRHT!
YAHOO MAP
Interesting section in the Kingston area there.
My parents just got back from ToTD and before that from a trip across New Mexico and part of Arizona. My father said that those roads, 152 in NM for one, are much better than ToTD. There are some awesome roads in Arkansas as well, sharper turns and much more dramatic elevation changes.

There are some roads down in the Bandera area that are incredible. Before I traded my Boxster for my A3, I did Boxtoberfest 2005. We found some of the real twisties outside of Bandera. I may be able to get the route we took if anyone is interested. It is usually published after the event.

I would love to see the Bandera route.

How many hours from DFW?
I know it takes me 16 hours to get to the Gap and 3 ish to Mena.
I like closer, maybe a MaTG closer to TX?
If you build it, they will come!

The annual Miata State-wide is at the other end of the Bandero route and every year that I've gone we've run it back and forth at least three times. The "scheduled" run is rather sedate as compared to the "private" ones that we do..... :big grin:
Oh, and the NM map looks GREAT!

It's about 700 miles to Las Cruces - where I-25 starts (mile 0) - and your exit is 63 miles up the road, almost to T or C. That drive should take you about 10-11 hours. I've got family out here so I have an excuse every once in a while...
BTW, the turbo guys would definitely love this one since the elevation is pretty noticeable (we're talking some parts that are probably 8-9K ft).
