Why would say nobody was there with you if your brother was there???? Should've answered the door in your security uniform.
Oh yeah, change your shorts anyway, don't want skid marks.
I called the non-emergency police number earlier today to see if I could get something done about my former roommates car. It's a gold Hyundai Accent POS that is not road worthy but it's parked in front of my house and has been for the last few months. I've given him multiple warnings about it and blah blah blah but he hasn't done anything about it... well, here I am about 10 minutes ago just browsing the forums.
I hear the front door open and close.
I hear my brother go into his bedroom next to mine.
I holler "Que!" (we do that, it's "What?" in Spanish).
Next thing I hear.. "GRAPEVINE POLICE, OPEN THE DOOR!"
I nearly made a poopy.
I yanked the door open and two GPD cops are looking at me.
"Anybody else in there with you?"
"Uh.. no.. what's going on?"
"Would you step outside with us please?"
"Ooooh you guys are here about the car!"
They both give me weird looks.
"How'd you know about that??"
"I'm the one that called it in"
"Why would you call in your own car?!?"
Me: LOL
I explained it to them and they said well ya know, that would have really helped if they had told us you called it in...
Anyway I finally got the ball rolling on getting rid of the stupid thing.
Still scared me half to death when the cops banged on the door.
I thought I was
So how was your day?

You should have given them your full investigation, and explained to them you know all the "inside" secrets.
You should NOT be afraid of the Police.
They are supposed to serve the taxpayers who pay for their jobs.
If you are afraid of your police department or government then start reading the Constitution and Bill of rights...turn fear into anger
sorry mods I can't resist, people shouldn't be afraid, we are supposed to b enjoying freedom.
Plus it's just a car that needs to be towed? why all the macho crap?

It sounds to me like the Police were trying to scare him a little... They thought he was the one responsible for the abandon car and were trying to use a little healthy intimidation to encourage him to deal with it. Perfectly acceptable given the situation and information they had. Once confusion was cleared up, it sounds like the fear was gone.

It only goes to show when people can no longer discriminate on the grounds of race, religion, or sexual orientation, they can improvise and still find someone to hate. - Dave Moulton
When the police knock on my door, as they have several times in the past, it doesn't even faze me since its because my lunatic neighbor has called with some perceived injustice we have inflicted upon her.
First time she called them she was in her backyard and couldn't stay out by the pool because she could smell my dog's (this was before I ran over her dog, whose piles did not offend her)
The next time the PD knocked on my door, he pointed to my driveway and asked "is that your truck?" I said "yes it is". He says, "is that your driveway?" I nodded knowingly. It seems my offense this time was her concern that my truck might be blocking the drainage easement (which is part of my driveway) and certainly a major concern in the middle of August.
He just shook his head while I told him about how she recently got thrown in jail for biting a Bedford cop who had pulled her over for speeding. She mouthed off to him, went back to open the trunk to show him the ceramic tile she was returning to the store who had commited the grevious error of giving her the wrong color. He told her to step away from the trunk, she got all in his face and he introduced her face to the hood of her car. That's when she started screaming racism, police brutality and (get this) "I know Mike Snyder!" (He does live in the neighborhood but I doubt he'd be interested) When that didn't work, she bit him. Off to the pokey ya go!
We had a good laugh, talked about trucks and crazy biting dames for almost an hour. Once they figured her out, they quit coming out.
Cam: You need to give that neighbor a nice aluminum brain cap for Christmas. That way she can keep the alien mind control rays from affecting her.
MM: You need to quit being so nervous. Makes me think you have something to hide from the po-po.

Lightness? What's that? I drive a PRHT!
She'd look pretty silly mowing the front yard wearing it. However, she looks pretty silly mowing the front yard in her bathing suit too. And it is not a pretty sight.
Last time it happened I ran through the house screaming "My eyes! My eyes!"
It damn near blinded me.
They thought somebody had called them on me, they didn't know I was the one who made the call.
BTW, I'm not scared of cops. I have to work with them all the time and I've been friends with a lot of them (much to the chagrin of my fellow car nuts).
It was just a little freaky having someone who wasn't a family member yell at me from inside the house
Yeah...
They checked the car out, then knocked on my door. I didn't hear them knock for some reason.
Trouble is, the doorknob on my front door just went to crap so I have to get another one. It won't secure completely, and when they showed up, the door was cracked open... so they sneaked in to check it out. That was when I heard what I thought was my brother walk by... I think they jumped when I yelled at him

Let me just recap:
Officers version
Nobody answers the door, it swings open, they go inside, and some skinny white kid starts yelling at them in Spanish. Then the officers act agitated and aggressive for a moment.
Sounds like police brutality to me
MadMonkey's version
Minding my own business, my brother comes home, and I say wassup in our own vernaculalr. Two officers magically appear in my house acting agitated and aggressive. I poop myself.
Sounds like a very rational reaction to the circumstances
I know I am not supposed to be scared of the cops, but whenever they knock or pass one on the street I get a lil knot in my stomach everytime. I am doing nothing wrong, but I start to wonder if I did and didn't know it.
Plus I don't like dealing with cops. Face it, whenever you have to deal with them it's usually because something bad happened. You don't call the cops to say "I'm having a nice day".
