Thread: New Stereo for the NB

Default New Stereo for the NB

Just got one of BR's sub boxes....if you have a dual voice coil you will have to add another piece of wood to the mounting side of the box to make it fit.

    Also got Rockford Fosgate....
p400 amp for mids and tweets
    p300-1 amp for the sub
    pps4 8in mids
    p1ts tweets
    p2d48 8in sub
rfc1 capacitor and dual amp install kit

I am installing the system on the 10th, looks like I will be able to add all the components out of sight to look like its all oem
    more to come....

so I am taking the doors pannels off to put in the speakers and run wire and I cant get the window crank to come off.

Is it screwed on?, or just on the post really really tight.
I figured I would ask before I start prying really hard on it.

I think there's a C-clip on the back side that holds it on.

Try to slide a small towel (rag) between the crank and door panel....then pull straight out.

+1 for the rag method. You kind of have to saw back and forth at it and snag a pointy end of the c-clip. Then be prepared to hunt it down if it take a flying leap over your head.

Damn, all I got done was one tweeter installed and one door dynomatted.
Will run speaker wire tomorrow, install midrange speaker and re-install door cover.
    Then start the drivers side.

Got all the speakers in and wired, along with the punch EQ control.
I need to find a sourch for remote power, so that the amps dont stay on all the time.
Anyone else done this sort of install before? if so what did you use for remote power?

Most aftermarket decks have a remote power out wire made for external amps. Check the wiring key on the deck... it is often a blue wire and could Say Remote, RMT, Power antenna, or something similar.

    Thanks Titus,
I finally got everything in and WOW!!
The system sounds fantastic, I cant believe how much better it sounds!!
Silver Toy had a real nice Kenwood in there that plays every format you can think of including music off a thumb drive, which is what I have been using lately.

I have always been a fan of Rockford Fosgate, it's good to know they havent missed a step in all the years since I have used their stuff in fact it's much better than I remember my last components from them.
The mids I used are in the 8in holes in the door and are awesome!
And I put a dual voice coil 8in sub in the box I got from Black Roadster, I Dynamatted everything on the doors and floorboard under the sub and although I can feel the bass hitting hard in my chest the mirrors dont move a millimeter, and nothing vibrates.
Just great clear, clean, balanced sound.

Cool thing Billy. Glad you like it. You might consider putting Poly-fill in the box if you didn't already.

If anyone was considering my foot well sub box, I have another batch I'm in the middle of making. I'm selling them pretty quickly too. This is the third batch I've made!

$125 cash picked up or $145 delivered.
    ...and across the line.
