I am considering trying this event. From what I understand it is not open passing Time Trials. I think it is more like timed HPDE. Passing in designated zones with a point. The price looks very reasonable for the amount of track time.
I got the Texas SCCA email and saw the bit about Club Trials. Has anyone participated in this and if so could you discuss your experience?

M3 is always the answer.
I have run a number of them with SCCA Houston region. They are generally very well run, think of a normal track day just with transponders added. While you do get official lap times there are no classes in TT with SCCA, so no real competition.
Ken- At the events I have attended the passing rules varied.
I signed up. I think the sessions are broken up so that there are a few are out on track--spread out--going as hard as possible (thus minimal passing).
Since the ECR Toy Run, I have mounted new Kuhmo XS, pre-loaded my front sway bar, installed RX-8 front hubs and Hawk pads, and finished mounting the 5-point race harness. New fluids and I am ready for some Time Trials.

Club trials sounds vaguely interesting, but note that all convertibles must have a compliant roll bar.

Looks like you need a Club License. To obtain this license you need physical by a real doctor ... well I'm out!
For Club Trials? I don't think you need a license. See below. I see "or" under the requirements for a license.

DRIVER
ELIGIBILITY:
Drivers should meet one of the following:
- Those who hold a valid state drivers license, or
- Those who hold a racing license from a recognized motorsports organization, or
Others who demonstrate evidence of experience relevant to high‐performance driving.
All drivers aged 15 to 17 must contact event officials before the event and provide a completed
SCCA MS‐L minor waiver (Form MS‐L). A SCCA Time Trials or Comp
etition License is not required. Current SCCA membership (weekend memberships are available) is required.
All drivers must attend all mandatory drivers' meetings, classroom sessions and debrief sessions
and must drive in a manner consistent with the safety nature of the event
