Very interesting so far. GT-S sounds promising for a street car. More likely a lower trim level if targeting for autocross Touring class or track since suspension, wheels, and seats would end up getting replaced anyway. Have to see where SCCA classes it. I hope we get full specs soon.

Realistically, I won't be in the market for a few years yet, but I'd like to take one for a spin ... at MSR-C.

The yellow cars seem to be every 10 years. It was 92, 02, 09. Therefor 19 should be the year for the yellow again! Yes, I will order a yellow GT-S as a street car if they have yellow for this year, otherwise I will wait.

They have a new blue. Flyin Miata got an RF in the new color.

Here's the second installment of the HellCat(fish), aka '19 ND MX-5 Miata, reveal from GRM:

    https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/ne...paign=GRMDaily

Measured in 5th gear (1:1), the rear wheel HP was 168, which is the same as Mazda's published crank HP number for the NC. Impressive. Torque was 149 lb-ft. I think real world (i.e., at the wheels) HP for the NC is around 140. Not sure about the torque.

    It's getting more interesting.

Mazda has big discounts on in stock ND1's right now if you don't need the updates.

Edit, I guess the internet was wrong a quick search 5K was the best I could find. Officially 3.5K to 4K

Looks like a lot of dealers are trying to keep the discount for themselves, so you may have to haggle.

I wonder if the discounts will go deeper as the 2019's start rolling onto showroom floors? A deeply discounted 2018 non-Brembo Club model would tempt me to trade in my 25th Anniversary Edition GT. But probably not, really. The NC is nicer on the road than the ND, I think.

I really want to see where SCCA is going to class the 2019 ND. Doubtless STR for touring class, regardless of where it winds up in Street class. There could be some STR-prepped '16 to '18 NDs up for grabs in a few months. That would be a better route than buying a discounted '18 and dumping another $10K worth of STR prep into it.

If it's anything like Street class, the NC is easily outperformed by the ND. (Both currently in CS...I'd be shocked if that changes for the ND2)

I found a new 2017 club for $7390 off MSRP. Looks like new clubs can be had for around 24-25K non Brembo.

The old don't want to spend the money is what keeps Vivid in the Garage at the "Casa de Meesh".

Plus I question the ND Transmission still, more power more revs can it take the abuse??
