ISO Scales
Ok, I'm pretty new to autocross, but I have raced dirt track for many years and one thing I do know is that if a car isn't balanced properly it won't handle. Doesn't matter whether you're turning right or left.
Anyway, I just installed a new adjustable suspension on my '01 Miata and I'm almost positive the weight screws aren't set correctly.
So, does anyone have a set of scales I could come to your place and borrow if possible? You can run the system, I'll do all the work.
Gonna run this Saturday and would love to have this set up for it.
Please help a newbie.

The coil springs can be tightened or loosened to adjust the weight distribution.
Do some googling on 'height adjustment'. You'll want a little bit of rake with the Miata.
I'll do that, but I still need scales. When the coil overs arrived a couple of the coil springs were loose so I know the weight isn't balanced properly.
I've gotta believe some of the better equipped teams have some scales I could come and use. If I have to I'll pay a reasonable rental fee.
There's a few 'race' shops in DFW. Check with Track Dog Racing in Dallas...if they don't have scales they probably know who does.
Race shops charge a lot for a corner balance. It's why I haven't done it yet. Usually around $400.
MER and The Doghouse can do it. Maybe G-Speed. All of those are at Cresson. Might also be worth calling Track Dog, Vorshlag, or Texas Track Works.
Wow, I'm an old dirt track racer and I wish I hadn't sold mine. Back in the day when a new team needed some help many of us jumped in to help. But, ok, guess I'm SOL. This weekend outta be interesting.

You can borrow mine if you bring them back to me from the last guy that borrowed them. They are either at Brianne Corn Raceway or Rally Ready.

The fact that they are now difficult to retrieve is one of the reasons nobody wants to loan out their expensive tools.

I was will to go to someone's place and use them there. Don't wanna take them. And I know exactly how expensive they are. Use to have some 25 yrs ago. Paid almost $2k back then which equates to about $4k in today's money.
Well, they are a bargain now. Less than $1k from Dave at SPS, who I can recommend.
Since it would inconvenience anyone else for you to come over to their place and use their scales, you may be better off just buying your own set and have the freedom to use them as long as you want, in the comfort and privacy of your own garage.
