Would it be easier to replace the axle entirely? It can't be all that expensive...
So has anyone replaced the bearing on the trailer? I've had mine since 8/2002 figure it's time to refresh the bearings and rear seals, but the limited documentation I got with the trailer isn't helping with any part numbers.
Any thoughts or suggestions??

Can someone who actually owns a harbor freight trailer help me.Originally Posted by Treibenschnell

pos.... You'll probably need to take the bearings out of one side and measure them. The spindle size too. I found this link. They might have what you need. http://www.etrailerpart.com/

Since I also have a HF trailer, I wondered about bearings too.
There used to be a place in Tyler (back in the day) called Cottingham Bearing. Walk in with any bearing from the front wheel of a 55 Chevy wagon to the bearings for a RC dune buggy, and they had them on the shelf.
Surely, somewhere in all the metromess, there is a business like that.

Lightness? What's that? I drive a PRHT!
I was just going to suggest them when Sammm beet me to the punch.Originally Posted by sammm
I know there are a few of them around Dallas and that there is one in McKinney off of Industrial Street.
Purvis is about half of the cost for the same bearing as an auto parts dealer. and we use them at work all of the time.

Thanks kids! I also found that my local Marina has prepackaged bearing kits, but I'd bet the Purvis stuff would be a higher quality.Originally Posted by Radio-Active
Just need to pull those darn bearings!
Noticed yesterday that the tires are showing signs of dry rot, looks like I should add new tires to my list also.
Just an FYI the bearing kits for a 1" axle did not work on my trailer! The axle is just under 1".
So whatcha gonna do now?Originally Posted by POS Racing

Need a 30205 HRB bearing or equivalent.
There is a trailer supply shop at Loop 12 and Singleton.
Went to Purvis Bearing in Fort Worth and they were able to cross the Chinese bearings over to a Timken Brand, only problem is the bearings and seals retail out at $95.00......
Luckily I know a guy who owns a machine tool distributorship in Euless and was able to get the jobber price of just $69.32 for everything after tax....
For the record the Bearings are Timken P/N 30205M the seal I got is a touch thinner than the original so I'll skip that number.

Were your bearing excessively worn or pitted?
Or is this preventative maintenance?
There was some grumbling noise when you spun the right wheel with the trailer lifted off it's wheels which made me check the bearings. There was pitting on the inter race on the right wheel (haven't pulled the left wheel yet) and signs that the inter bearing may have been hot or possibly wet. The rollers in the bearing had discolored slightly.Originally Posted by JRW
Yep, I was told they didn't offer any replacement parts and recomended I contacted Changzhou Nanxiashu Tool Co.,Ltd. who made the DIY Trailer Kit I have from Harbor Freight.Originally Posted by onething
I also looked for a US supplier of HRB Bearings with no luck.
One more place to check. If they don't have them, you don't need them!
