Wow the above crapola isn't what I expected when I clicked on this post.
Hey William it's just a car.
Since it's Valentine's Day and all let's talk about our true loves.
When was the first time you knew you wanted a Miata?
How long have you owned a Miata?
I first knew I'd own one when I started selling Mazdas in 1993.
I got my first one in 1997.

Hey William it's just a car.
First time at TWS in my ex-wife's 1990 (Fall of 1989) I knew I wanted one.
Bought MY first one in October 1991., and the rest is history
True love????? We won't go there....................
I knew I wanted a Miata when I first rode in one back in 1992 (at an auto-x, no less)... it's been on my short list of cars to own ever since, but I've always had too many other projects taking up space and money.
...finally bought my first one in October of last year. I always figured if I got one it would be a second "toy" car, but now I'm kicking myself for not getting one sooner. Now I want an NC... to go with the NA.

Honestly, Up until my wife got one a year ago I did not want to be caught dead in one.
It took one test drive and I was hooked.
I'd seen girls like her all over town. Always smiling, always with some lucky guy. They seemed to have so much fun together. Not wanting to be jealous, I convinced myself I was happy with my current love. But looking back, this one was boring, that one was all flash and no substance, and frankly, the current one was too big.
I first saw my new love on the internet of all places. If I had told them, my friends would have said "You can't fall in love based on a picture on the internet!" and laugh "Better get a ride first!" So I kept my thoughts to myself. And even tried to convince myself that the attraction was just a passing phase. My current love, although too large, was faithful and had never let me down. So I suppressed my feelings, that's what guys do, and took peeks at her on the internet at night when no one was watching.
My passion overtook me on January 11th, 2007. I was tired of just looking at pictures, and reading her profile. Enough! This is driving me crazy! I decided to meet her in person. If we didn't "click" then I'd finally know and could stop obsessing. So we met, she was much more beautiful than her pictures, and we fit together like a hand in a glove. Nervously, I took her for a ride and, well you know what it's like.
I brought "Deep Red" home that day. I left my old "too large" love behind for someone else. (She wasn't bad in anyway, we had just grown apart; I still think of her sometimes.) Now other guys see her and me both smiling, having a good time, and they wish they were me. I hope they find true love too.

Sorry... gonna side with Will on this one. The Miata has been much more than any old car to me.
I hear you 's yapping about "how deep blah, blah, blah..." and all I can think of is this -
How Deep Is Your Love by The Bee Gees
I know your eyes in the morning sun
I feel you touch me in the pouring rain
And the moment that you wander far from me
I wanna feel you in my arms again
And you come to me on a summer breeze
Keep me warm in your love and then softly leave
And it's me you need to show
CHORUS:
How deep is your love
I really need to learn
'cause we're living in a world of fools
Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me
I believe in you
You know the door to my very soul
You're the light in my deepest darkest hour
You're my saviour when I fall
And you may not think
I care for you
When you know down inside
That I really do
And it's me you need to show
Great...
Just great...
You yahoos are all being cussed by Bean's coworkers and he whistles, hums, and sings this song at work.
I for one keep thinking of the Paul Oakenfold song: Ready, Steady, Go.
If you're wondering about words, there are few... just a great fast paced song for the track/twisties. Also, if you are wondering what the song is, it's the song from the car chase sequence in the movie "The Bourne Identity"
That's the best song to feel "at one" with your ride.
