Welcome, have fun with your Miata.
After a year of thinking, I got a 01 SE about 2 weeks ago. Loving it so far, and just starting to think about what I want to do with it and to it. I decided to get a Miata after swtichng from a 98 Mustang Cobra 'vert about 3 years ago to a 07 MINI Cooper S I really enjoy. I made that switch so I could do a few autocrosses and track days, which I've done in the MINI. But I kept missing the open top.
About me. My name is Phil, and I work for Abbott Labs. My training is in chemistry, but right now I work in lab automation. 40something years old. My other interests include kenpo karate, sim-racing on the PC, and doing sports with my twin boys.

Welcome, have fun with your Miata.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Nice BRG!.......Welcome.
Which sim on the PC are you racing on? iRacing? I've posted some stuff in the sims section of the site from a recent MX5 race in GT5.

Welcome, and congrats on the Miata. I hear Green is the new Black.
I loved iRacing, but just didn't do it enough to justify the subscription fee. I use rFactor now... with the latest "RealFeel" plug-in it has closed the gap (well, not on the graphics, but the feedback is better), plus you can download local tracks to practice on.
Hope to see you at an AutoX!
Good lookin' NB! Welcome aboard.
I did iRacing, but was not getting enough out of it to justify the sub + the track/car costs. I loved the Miatas in iRacing, but hated the public miata races. My buddies who still do iRacing tell me its gets better as you level up, but I bailed.
I do mostly rfactor, and mostly with the guys at cmsracing.com This year I helped run the newbie series, and ran a few of the ALMS and historic series races. I'm also helping them get ready to host a 2.4hr race at Daytona RC using a Grand Am mod we put together.
I also run sometimes with the guys at metroplexmini.org (look in the simracing section, its mainly a MINI board). One of the guys there (plickbadger) did the local tracks for rfactor (MSR-Cresson, TWS, Hallet, etc), as well as the rfactor Spec Miata mod. He tracks a Mini and a Miata. I used his MSR and MINI mods in prepping for my last trackday. They are some good drivers and good guys there as well.
Welcome, great looking car.

I might have to try this rfactor thing, sounds like fun. I have also heard good things about the upcoming Project:Cars.
Niiice.
Those are all humans, btw (you can see the locking of brakes and spins). The ai in rfactor is pretty bad, but the netcode is good. There are a ton of groups running any sort of racing you might be interested in.
Hey I know you! I've been considering iRacing, but now I'm going to look into rFactor. I used to play it, but sold my wheel. Maybe I'll see you at an event!
Here is a big event for rfactor people.
5th Annual CMS 2.4 Hrs of Daytona
Should have 25+drivers in two classes. The mod is very good, with both DPs and GTs.

Welcome! Nice NB. This pc stuff is new to me and sounds interesting. Have fun with modding up your car!
