Like you know anything about course design......
Thoughts?

I do not think it was the best idea, but I really doubt that it help a driver that is already poised to trophy do any better. It would be hard to get the courses exactly the same and small nuances make a big difference.

You know how much SCCA likes their rules....blatant cheating!
Remember back in the olden days..... We didn't get course maps posted we just showed up to the venue and ran whatever was set up....
But if you post the maps early ya just gotta know someone is going to try to take advantage of the available information.
In the olden days courses didn't get made up till that morning.....put a cone where ever there's an empty beer can!
I actually used to like the excitement of not seeing the course until we arrived. You never knew what to expect.
They have a nice site. We could use one like that in Texas.
The surfaces are different. The slope of the lots and bumps are different. Good chance for rain. Now that there is video out there. Most people will see the videos before the event.
But I think the point of this thread is it breaks tradition. I think there will be a new rule in the Book or Supps about when the course designs can be released.
But for now. Thanks Lake Superior Region. Nice to see how the courses flow.
Doing it a few weeks before nationals is bad sportsmanship, IMO. I could run it all day and I would still get beat, but for guys in the trophies or in the hunt for the win it’s bad. People that did it and claim that it does not make a difference then why did they do it? They knew it would cause an uproar. It was done by a few looking for an advantage however small.
I am not going so it really does not matter to me, but I still view it as a crappy thing to do.
I agree on both counts: it’s probably not going to be the “same” because of nuances and site variation, and it’s lousy sportsmanship.
