Thread: Good Harbor Freight experience

    Default Good Harbor Freight experience

I just got back from HF and I can't believe that I got out of there and only spent $24. That place is pure evil. I'm usually trying to figure out how to get all the *stuff* home. All those cheap tools, and you just keep saying "Its only $10 more." Next thing you know you are at the cash register and the guy says that will be $263.52.

Anyone needing a digital multi meter they have them on sale this weekend for $3.99!

The trick appears to be to take a small child that keeps getting into things so you are distracted, and don't really pay attention to the stuff on the shelves.

POS turned me on to those last time they were on sale! I had to have one. Hard to beat and they even come with a battery!

I have a simple solution to the Harbor Freight problem. I go there on the R1....... No storage space.

BTW - I bought one of their lathe/mill combos..... I've made a TON of chips with the thing. Add the auto darkening welding helmet..... the $9.99 two-ton hoist..... the air tools.....

Isn't there a 12 step program for this? HF-holics or something?

Haha, that reminds me of the last time I was there. I told my girlfriend she could sit in the car and I would be right out. 45 minutes later she is calling my cell wondering where the hell I am. Great place, I did show some amazing self restraint not buying the cheap aluminum racing jack.

12 step programs are so ineffective when it comes to tools, you say yes I only need this and then your like , well that wuld be nice and it's only >> >> more and then your whole paycheck is gone.

Yeah, a $3.99 multimeter and 2 of the 8.99 tap & die sets

I don't expect 'em to last very long... *cough* made in China cheap tools *cough*

But at least they'll be good for refreshing or cleaning threads.
